This point is known as it's anti0node. the 1/4 distance of a particular wavelength will depend on the sound waves frequency. Low frequency waves will ofcourse have longer wavelengths and thus more distance is needed in order to trap the wave at 1/4 of its length.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Flexural absorber (a.k.a. panel absorber).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This bass trap consists of a box attached to a wall with a dampded air space in it. the front panel of the box needs to be compliant (flexible). The frequency range that the box is capable of absorbing will depend on the box depth. Mineral wool (rockwool) is placed inside the box filling it approximately half full thus allowing damped air inside.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Tube Trap absorber&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A tube trap consists of a hollow tube such as a PVC pipe lightly packed with absorbent materials . These traps are usually placed in corners of rooms were excess low frequency build up is present. Like all the other bass trapping methods, the frequency range a tube absorber will trap will depend on the diameter and length of the trap. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Helmholtz Resonator &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is a damped air space that is usually built into a wall that has a thin neck similar to a bottle shape. The front panel of the resonator will be perforated.
